Ingredients:
1 lbs of bulgogi (marinate thinly sliced sirloin for at least 20 min in 3 tbsp soy sauce + 2 tbsp sugar + 1 tbsp honey + 2 tbsp mirin + 1 tbsp sesame oil + 2 tbsp minced garlic + 1/2 tsp black pepper + 1 tbsp chopped scallions)
1 bell pepper
5-6 oz of broccoli florets
5 shiitake mushrooms, thinly sliced
1 lbs of rice cakes
Sauce:
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp sesame oil
Directions:
1. Marinate the meat and set it aside for 20 minutes. Prep all your veggies while waiting for the meat to marinate.
2. Over medium heat, add 1 tbsp of neutral oil and saute the vegetables. Remove them from heat when cooked through.
3. Add the bulgogi to the same pan and saute. When about half way cooked, add your rice cakes. Add the sauce. Close the lid for 2 minutes and let the steam separate and soften the rice cakes.
4. Add the vegetables you removed earlier and saute everything together. Taste + add additional seasoning if needed. (For the kids, I only add 1 tbsp of SS, sugar and sesame oil and then add the remaining after serving theirs.)
5. Garnish with green onions + sesame seeds + 1 tbsp of sesame oil. Serve and enjoy!
