MEATS
– I usually get thinly sliced brisket, pork belly, and beef to marinate – short ribs, flap meat, or skirt steak work well for this! (we had 9 lbs of meat total to feed 6 adults and 8 kids)
OTHER PROTEIN
– eggs for steamed eggs
– tofu for the stew
VEGETABLES
– lettuce
– cucumbers
– perilla leaves
– Korean peppers
– mushrooms
– squash
– onions
– garlic (if you like to grill sliced garlic with your meat)
– scallions (it’s easier to buy pre-sliced scallions)
– pickled radish wraps for Ssam
SAUCES
– seasoned soybean paste for Ssam (try: O’Food Mild Ssamjang)
– soybean paste for soybean paste stew (try: Sempio soybean pasate)
– sesame oil (to make sesame oil, salt, and pepper dipping sauce for the non-marinated meat)
Optional if marinating beef:
– soy sauce for marinating beef (try: Sempio soy sauce)
– mirin (try: Lotte mirin)
SIDE DISHES (any of the following works great with KBBQ!)
– seasoned dried squid
– seasoned pickled cucumbers
– seasoned fresh perilla leaves
– seasoned bellowflower and squid salad
