Ingredients:
Serving size: 2 adults + 3 kids
3-4 lbs of beef short ribs (thickness about 1/3 to 1/2 inch)
Marinade:
1/2 cup of soy sauce
1/2 cup of wate
1/2 cup of sugar (I mixed honey and brown sugar)
1/4 cup of mirin
3 tbsp of sesame oil
2 scallions, chopped
1 apple sauce pouch
1/2 medium onion, grated (I used onion powder instead)
2 tbsp of minced garlic
1 tsp of minced ginger
a pinch of black pepper
optional: 1 tsp of sesame seeds
Directions:
1. If your short ribs have bones, rinse thoroughly to wash off bone dust and remaining blood.
2. Mix all marinade ingredients together in a bowl (if you’re pressed on time, you can add them directly to the meat like I did.)
3. Mix in the marinade and sure each short rib piece is well coated. Marinate in the fridge for a minimum of 6 hours but marinating overnight will give you the best results.
4. Cook the ribs when ready and enjoy!
